Romantic comedies haven’t been on my good side lately, but lets hope that these ones save them.
First is a movie called Going the Distance – it stars on-and-off couple (I really don’t know if they are dating again or not) Drew Barrymore and Justin Long. It seems fun and exciting, plus I’m really happy to see Christina Applegate on screen. Also a known name in the behind the scenes people is Adam Shankman who is a producer of this movie. This is his second romantic movie this year, since he was the producer of The Last Song also. Let’s hope this one is a little better than The Last Song, since I really like the main cast, both of them haven’t disappointed me yet.
Second is already out in the cinemas but I haven’t seen it yet. It’s the newest Jennifer Aniston’s movie and I have heard bad things about it. Seems similar to the Jennifer Lopez’s movie The Backup Plan which I didn’t enjoy. Watching the trailer, my first though: Aniston and Bateman have blue eyes, the kid has brown.. so he is not the father is my first thought! If they cast these kids don’t they want them to at least give the impression that they can be the kid of the main character, the eye color usually isn’t matching at all. Look for yourself.
Third is a French movie, starring the most luckiest woman in the world Vanessa Paradis (she is with Johnny Depp if you didn’t already know!). Anyway, this movie Heartbreaker looks hopeful plus the language is absolutely fantastic, I love French!
Then comes the ultimate scary trailer which basically means the movie stars Katherine Heigl – Life as We Know It! She has done some bad movies lately and she was thrown out of Gray’s Anatomy. Josh Duhamel isn’t on my good side after the movie When in Rome, another romantic comedy gone bad. But I put this trailer up since this is a good example of a movie that is going to fail – it seems so typical and predictable and all the other things that aren’t good.
My biggest hopes are going to the movie that Anne Hatheway and Jake Gyllenhal star in – Love and Other Drugs. (I already did a post about it but this just shows that I’m waiting for it like crazy). First, I so adore the character Anne is playing just based on the trailer! Not a typical “I’m looking for love” woman but somebody who knows who she is and what she wants and she isn’t whining about life! Not really exited about Jake anymore thought, I think that he started to look not like a lead in a romantic comedy for me after I watched this trailer a couple of times. But it is giving the movie a more realistic vibe – I think. (Do I think Jake is not hot, no, I just see him with Heath Ledger in the mountains and that is something that always stays with me – sorry, Jake! Love you though!)
And may I just ask, why does every lead man/woman have to have a funny friend who has clever lines like: “She rejected you, that’s why you want her!”. It seems that everything is so in the frames that I just don’t know if there is any way out. But let’s stay tuned and I hope I see those movies and like at least 1 or 2 of them!
