A fair amount of time has passed since I saw Kong: Skull Island but considering the fact that I pretty much hated the movie, I figured I should get all that hate out of me before it festers and eats me up alive. It’s not healthy to keep bad thoughts inside for long, and therefore, my very late and not relevant review of this movie. Delivered to you from somebody who hardly remembers anything about the movie, yet wants to share her thoughts about it – it feels like the right thing to do.
Every year I try to stay away from the madness of award season and every year I’m sucked into it like a moth to a flame. This year was no different. After a special year in film, after Mad Max won everybody’s heart, after Tom Hardy gave only amazing performances, after Leo wished, prayed and hoped throughout the year; the Oscars delivered and everybody won!
For those who are frequent visitors on my blog, the highest rating for Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s feature debut Don Jon probably doesn’t come as a surprise – I adore that man! I have even gone as far as calling him my boy and in my eyes he can do no wrong (except Premium Rush but let’s not bring that up again). So, due to my affection towards Joe, I decided not to pressure myself into loving the movie and instead of having extremely high expectations for Don Jon, I just wanted to celebrate his first movie – and I did!
