I hereby want to quote that famous Gwen Stefani song Hollaback to describe my feelings about this week’s theme: “this my sh*t, this my sh*t!” And that says it all really, because a movie based on true events is just the kind of sh*t I go for, and I love these types of movies a lot. Also, I’m hereby breaking my own special rule of not re-mentioning movies because I can’t help myself. I have to do it!
It is time for the most important lists of 2016, the two lists that matter the most: the list of best books and best movies I read and saw last year! And though it’s always hard to put things in a certain perspective, it’s even harder to put them in an order, but I’ve done this for many years and I think I’ve got it! So despite my fears and the slow burning panic that started somewhere in the middle of November, these lists took me less time than I had planned.. which is not to say that they didn’t take more than an hour, because they did but it was all for a good cause!
If you’re looking for a feelgood movie, that is motivating, sweet and honest, go for Eddie the Eagle! This movie will teach you that winning is not always the only way to win, and being the best you can be, is sometimes better than being the best in the world. And to have such great life lessons in a movie based on true events, and having Egerton give a brilliant performance, adds to the pile of great things Eddie the Eagle brings on to the table.
It is never too early to anticipate. The only downside to anticipation, is the fact that sometimes anticipation builds up so much, that you might explode. Not to mention that the longer you anticipate, the more you expect and well, sometimes that expectation is not met by the movie. But let’s not think about the negative, instead, let me share these 40 movies that will be released in 2016, in this two part post, that I want to see for various reasons and most reasons are manly.
