While there might be some things that never change, we as people still constantly evolve just like the world around us. Our thoughts, our tastes, our opinions – with every new grain of information something in us could change completely. We might idolise someone one minute and cringe our noses at their stupidity the next, we might find a movie absolutely brilliant, only to fall out of love with it two years later. And it’s fascinating to see and compare our present to the past, which is why I had this crazy idea to compile My Movie Alphabet Vol 2, almost five years after I posted the first one. To see how I’ve changed… and how much I’ve stayed the same.

This week’s theme is kind of a difficult one to crack because two of my recommendations are, for the lack of a better word, spoilers. Like, if I would have known beforehand that these movies will feature clones or dopplegängers, I would have been less surprised and therefore I would have, most likely, missed out on the most important moment. Though one of my examples has a very spoiler-esque trailer, which I luckily avoided, so technically the movie makers themselves flushed that “moment” down the toilet themselves. The last time I enjoyed an X-Men movie was… never and honestly, I thought, before going to see Logan, that it will remain as such forever. Turns out I was wrong and I’m so glad I didn’t give up on the X-Men franchise after it being a big pile of disappointment throughout the years. Because Logan, despite the way he ended up there, proved that sometimes a franchise can change things up so much, that it not only distances itself from the rest of the movies in the best way possible but it also launches itself into an award worthy territory that no comic book movie has ever dared to venture!

This week will be a holiday compared to the last few weeks. Even though I have some things that are ruining my chill-vibes, that I will mention soon, most of the week is rather blissful and I’m hoping to get a lot of writing and reading done. So this Commercial Break is hopefully just the start to a very eventful week! Also want to post a few reviews in the upcoming weeks if I get them written – I should get them written, in theory but it’s Monday and I’m already behind with my schedule.

Warning, this week’s Commercial Break will include crazy rants about this week, some as crazy but more enthusiastic rants about a movie I saw last week, and if you make it past that point, I will also go crazy over a few other things that I have been watching recently. Plus, I will try to end the post with an insane list of awesome links to awesome bloggers like I usually do – so actually this Commercial Break is exactly like all of the other ones before it except this one has the pleasure to be number 69.
