It is time for the most important lists of 2016, the two lists that matter the most: the list of best books and best movies I read and saw last year! And though it’s always hard to put things in a certain perspective, it’s even harder to put them in an order, but I’ve done this for many years and I think I’ve got it! So despite my fears and the slow burning panic that started somewhere in the middle of November, these lists took me less time than I had planned.. which is not to say that they didn’t take more than an hour, because they did but it was all for a good cause!

An Essay: Year 2016 Told Through Movies
We start off the year with an Oscar race that has our hearts beating erratically because this might be Leonardo DiCaprio’s year, and it was. He won, he got that Oscar, he held that Oscar, he took that Oscar with him to show off to his supermodels and polish on his yacht while the sun cast golden streaks of light onto Leo’s face. Nocturnal Animals (2016)

But also because I’m constantly thinking how I’m going to send this blog to 2017 and how I will continue with its year 7. The thing is, 7 is my favourite number, and I feel like year 7 for Mettel Ray should be special somehow. The problem is, I have been blogging for six consecutive years and the last couple of years have felt like the blog has been on a standstill. Which is a good thing in a way but I want more, and I think, in the wee hours of last night, I realised what more is, and constructed a game-plan! So, without getting your hopes up too much, stay tuned for 2017, I’m might shake things up…
Commercial Break #60
60 seems like a big number. Though I begun with this feature two years ago in January, I haven’t kept up with it weekly and yet 60 is quite a big number. I’ve made it here so now I’m going to continue, because I really want to hit that magic number of a 100, and from there, I’ll just keep going, because I have nothing better to do anyway.
