Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

In an era where it’s almost impossible to avoid superhero movies and shows, Spider-Man: Homecoming finds a fresh way to portray a story of a superhero in the overly exhausting Marvel Universe. It adds a fresh take on the superhero phenomena, it brings us back to the excitement of having these superheroes exist, but it also asks us to keep our feet on the ground. And while I would not give Spider-Man: Homecoming the highest slot in my favourite Marvel movie lineup, I feel like it will always have a special place in my heart for making me appreciate the simpler things in life.

Captain America: Civil War (2016)

captain america civil warDespite my advantage to see Captain America: Civil War before America, it has taken me ages to just get myself focused enough to sit down for its review. After seeing it, and after seeing it for the second time, I have collected so many emotions and thoughts, that it has proven to be difficult to focus my head around the idea of writing them all down. Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

Going to see Avengers: Age of Ultron was a world wide event – everybody went, you went, your mom went (probably), your best friend went, your best friend’s friend went to see it twice and yet, I would say it might not have been worth it. Sure, there were great moments here and there but as a whole the second Avengers lacked the upmh (it’s a technical term!) it needed.

A simple story, good writing, a great cast, lovely moments and all that food porn makes Chef into a heartwarming movie that nobody saw coming. I mean, I sure didn’t see it coming, I didn’t even think I was going to love as much as I do right now. Maybe part of my love is the fact that Chef surprised me, Jon Favreau surprised me and I absolutely love being surprised!

January Favorites

It’s been a while since I did my favorites post and I feel a bit bad, it’s not because I haven’t had favorites, it’s because I just haven’t had enough. But I figured, it doesn’t matter, I can ramble about few of my favorites for hours anyway, so why not do it each month. So I’m kicking this tradition into motion for the second time, harder this time, so it would actually get itself started. Also, this marks my third post this week, which means this one is extra special and I have done extremely well with my resolution to post two posts each week. Yay!
