The Accountant (2016)

Imagine my surprise when I walked out of The Accountant and I had only positive things circling my mind!? Because despite the promising trailer, and the premise, I was so certain the movie was going to step into the well known action thriller hole of clichés. Yet, The Accountant kept it fresh right until the end, surprising me with an unconventional final act, that deserves some praise on its own.

Thursday Movie Picks: Prodigy/Genius

This week’s theme is definitely a gem among the rest because I knew at least one movie I definitely wanted to recommend, and the others didn’t take long to follow. I wanted the list to be a mix of both, I wanted to have a genius and a prodigy, but then I figured I’d mention one of my favourites from last year as well that sort of falls into the genius theme. So here’s my very versatile list of really intelligent people.

Histology of 2016: Part 3

It is time for the most important lists of 2016, the two lists that matter the most: the list of best books and best movies I read and saw last year! And though it’s always hard to put things in a certain perspective, it’s even harder to put them in an order, but I’ve done this for many years and I think I’ve got it! So despite my fears and the slow burning panic that started somewhere in the middle of November, these lists took me less time than I had planned.. which is not to say that they didn’t take more than an hour, because they did but it was all for a good cause!

Seven Movies I Want to See This Year

In the beginning of the year, I shared a two part post highlighting 40 movies of this year that I caught my eye, and now, my list has significantly narrowed. Not only have I lost interest towards some of these movies, but due to my own schedule, I know I can’t manage  to see all of them. So, I looked at that list, and added to that list, and finally realized that I need to see these following movies before the end of this year!

40 Movies of 2016 (Part 2)

The funny thing is, I had planned for a much simpler post. I had a number in mind, 15 and I set out to search for those 15. Then it turned to 30, and now there are 40 movies and this is the second part of that post because to fit 40 into a single post seemed just too extensive (part 1 here). But to clarify, I’m not 100% anticipating to see all 40, I’m simply curious about what’s to come in 2016.
