While there might be some things that never change, we as people still constantly evolve just like the world around us. Our thoughts, our tastes, our opinions – with every new grain of information something in us could change completely. We might idolise someone one minute and cringe our noses at their stupidity the next, we might find a movie absolutely brilliant, only to fall out of love with it two years later. And it’s fascinating to see and compare our present to the past, which is why I had this crazy idea to compile My Movie Alphabet Vol 2, almost five years after I posted the first one. To see how I’ve changed… and how much I’ve stayed the same.

For some reason, even though it’s such a wide theme, I was having a bit of a hard time this week. I thought long and hard what kind of route I wanted to take with this topic, which angle I should have chosen and I ended up with three very similar movies – all feature artistic rivalry. In other words, this list is as full of surprises for me as it might be for you!
Here is the final list for the 2014 in Retrospect series!

This review contains minor spoilers.
More than a week has passed since I witnessed one of the greatest battles I’ve seen in movies – a battle between a student, aspiring to be the best, and a teacher, bullying his way towards hearing perfection. There was tension, there was false hope, crushed dreams and crushed fingers, rude words, harsh words and fake kind words, unbelievably evil mockery and verbal abuse, just because there are no two words in the English language more harmful than “good job”!
