This Friday I want to cram a lot of information into one post because I feel like I need to. You see, I keep getting tagged in these awesome book tags over on my bookstagram account, and I rarely actually do them. But when I was tagged twice on Wednesday, I got the hint and decided to do one of them for my Fictional Friday post. Oh, and the explanation part of the title will be revealed at the end.
Sofia over at her Returning Videotapes Instagram page, tagged me in the Coffee Tasted Books tag:
PEPPERMINT MOCHA, book for the holidays:
Something YA, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han for instance.
HOT CHOCOLATE, favourite book from childhood:
Bill Bergson, Master Detective by Astrid Lindgren.
DOUBLE ESPRESSO, book that kept you on the edge of your seat:
The Cruel Prince by Holly Black (kept me up all through the night!)
STARBUCKS, book you see everywhere:
Every book by Donna Tartt
BLACK COFFEE, a book you expected more from:
Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia
PERFECT BLEND, satisfying read:
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
GREEN TEA, a quiet, beautiful read:
milk and honey by Rupi Kaur
EARL GREY, a must have classic:
The Stranger by Albert Camus
So for the explanation, I need to specify the kind of explanation it is and I’m a little disappointed of myself to admit it. You see, I didn’t finish my January TBR and I don’t think I will set myself any reading goals for February, or the rest of the year either. TBR is cool, it challenges you to stick to the books you picked out and motivates you to read books which have been on your endless TBR for a while. But reading for me is very much dependent on my mood, and my mood is always changing. So I don’t really have an idea what I’ll be graving for at the middle of the month, even less what I want to pick up at the end of the month. January was a proof of that!
Therefore, despite my best intentions, I’m not going to stick with the randomness of my reading choices and I’ll have only wrap ups planned from now on. I praise and admire those who can stick to a TBR, to keep going and to constantly pick up the books you plan to. I wanted to be as cool as you guys are, but I apparently am not one of the monthly-TBR gang! Maybe I will be some time in the future, but 2018 is not that time.
I will post my January Wrap Up next week, where I share the two books I managed to read from my monthly TBR, and the two others which were outside my TBR. I won’t give up on the other three books I wanted to get to last month, but I will read them when I’m in the mood. Hopefully my other monthly plans, in regards to blogging and movie watching, will work out a little better, since this monthly TBR bombed so hard!
